Update

Hello friends,

I hope you all are doing well and ready for the holiday season.

I want to thank you all for following me on my blog. I love Southern cooking and enjoy sharing my tips and recipes with you.

This is a life update post but it’s a hard one to write. My husband, Jim, passed away on November 29th. He had been battling kidney disease and had been on dialysis for the last 7 months. There is no doubt that he fought this battle fiercely with everything he had. That is just the kind of person he was to give it his all with everything he did.

Jim encouraged me to start the blog. He bought me a camera and told me to go for it because he knew how passionate I was to share my love for Southern cooking. I learned to operate the camera or actually turn it on. I was scared because I didn’t think I could photograph food. He along with my children cheered me on. Jim was my test taster. He enjoyed that job immensely!!!

Just a few days before he passed, I was working on Christmas cookies. He loved my cookie recipes and couldn’t wait for me to share them with you. I’ll be posting them soon.

I find comfort and peace knowing that he is now completely healed and rejoicing in Heaven with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. . Please keep me and my family in your prayers. This scripture is the most fitting for Jim. 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas. Be sure to hold your loved ones tight. Life is short and fragile…

Love,

Aletia
