Description
This Crunchy Oriental Coleslaw is packed with crunchy ramen noodles, mandarin oranges, toasted almonds, and a tangy Asian-inspired dressing. Perfect for cookouts, potlucks, and summer BBQs!
Ingredients
- 1 (16 oz) bag of coleslaw mix (or shredded green and purple cabbage + shredded carrots)
- 1/2 cup sliced green onions
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 1 package of ramen noodles, uncooked (crushed)
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds (optional)
- 1 (8-ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
Dressing:
- 1/2 cup olive oil or vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare Dressing: In a jar or bowl, whisk together olive oil, rice vinegar, sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, and ground ginger. Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
- Mix Coleslaw: In a large bowl, combine coleslaw mix, green onions, almonds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, crushed ramen noodles and mandarin oranges.
- Combine: Pour the dressing over the coleslaw mix and toss until well coated.
- Chill & Serve: Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld. Toss again before serving.
Tip:
- For extra crunch, add the ramen noodles just before serving.
